Ingrid Handlovsky completed her PhD with the School of Nursing at the University of British Columbia May 2018. The overarching focus of Ingrid’s research is examination of how contextual circumstances (social, historical, political) influence the development of health inequities. Under the supervision of Dr. Vicky Bungay, Dr. John Oliffe, and Dr. Joy Johnson, her doctoral work critically examines how the intersections of sexual identity and gender influence the health management practices of men who self-identify as gay. Ingrid’s dissertation was supported by a CIHR doctoral award a UBC four year fellowship (4YF).
