Dr. Francine Darroch is an assistant professor at Carleton University and an affiliate professor at UBC in the School of Nursing. She is a former Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship in the Men’s Health Research Unit and continues to work closely with Dr. Oliffe. Dr. Darroch’s research focuses on equity-oriented health promotion with populations experiencing marginalization. Her current research aims to address inequities in physical activity for urban Indigenous and non-Indigenous pregnant women and parents with the goal to improve quality of life and overall health. This work addresses individual, systemic, and structural barriers to health. Overall, her research is committed to social justice and health equity.
